TVS grabs the top-seed. BMD, Balaji Metal Works and MP Portfolio top their respective groups

Team TVS comprises Brijesh Damani and Shreevardhan Poddar obtains a top-seed slot for the knockout stage of the first event of NPEC Bengal Premier League 2022 i.e. Pro-Am Snooker Tournament where a professional player from PAN India is paired with an amateur player of West Bengal.

The League is being played at Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata organized by West Bengal Billiards Association and sponsored by Natural Products Exports Corporation.

Today team TVS played two matches in their group stage. In the first match, they defeated DAINIK VISHWAMITRA of Inder Mundra and Kamal Chawla 3-0. TVS was leading 2-0 but got big turbulence in the third frame where they went down to a situation where they required 3 snookers. However, their collective efforts worked and they overcome to be in the game and won 3-0.

Team BMD of Rishabh Dugar and Pankaj Advani won all the three group matches at the cost of two frames and obtained second seed.

The third seed went to Balaji Metal Works of Manish Jain and Anshuman Kanoria who won all three matches losing three frames in total.

The MP Portfolio of Mudit Poddar paired with Manan Chandra won all their group matches 3-2 to secure the fourth seed. Today morning they defeated Team SFIC Group of Devesh Sonthalia and Malkeet Singh by winning the deciding frame 3-2. At one stage, MP Portfolio was trailing 1-2 but then they fought back to secure the fourth frame 64-35. During the decider, once again SFIC group obtained a decent lead but MP Portfolio not only chased brilliantly but defeated also by 10 points 71-61.

And later also they went down 2 frames against NPEC of Ishpreet Singh and Sunil Saraogi. It appeared they will lose 3-0 but timely they recovered and won back to back all three frames to secure a 3-2 win and fourth seed for knockouts.
