Ahsan-Ul-Haque
has left for his Heavenly Abode
Cue Sports India is saddened to update that the iconic and
senior-most cueist of Odisha Ahsan-Ul-Haq has left for his Heavenly
Abode. Haque was 9-time State Snooker & 10-time State Billiards
Champion.
At the age of 55, Ahsan was not keeping well and underwent survival
treatment for the past few days before taking his last breathe
today.
Haque was the 1st Cueist who laid the example of making a full-time
career as a Top-Ranked Cueist from Odisha. Acknowledging his merits
in sports, NALCO, Odisha employed him on regular basis.
Haque had always been an inspiration for cueists from Odisha and in
Eastern India too. He also trained certain Players of Odisha, who
are performing well in Cue Sports.
Haque was originally from West Bengal but settled in Bhubaneshwar
after World Billiards Championship held in Odisha during the late
90s. At that time Haque was the most competent Player of the East
Zone & a frequent in the rankings of Nationals. Even he won many
Open Championships held in Odisha during his playing years.
His last Rituals are being done at his Native at West Bengal later
this evening.
Cue Sports India extends condolences to his family and pray that the
departed soul rest in peace.
