With deep sorrow,
Cue Sports India informs that
Founder and
Patron of Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA), Shri
M.Chenniappan passes away in the early hours of
16 September 2011.
He was suffering from Respiratory problems.
92 years old, Mr.
Chenniappan had always remained a great inspirations force that lead
in the successful journey of KSBA that started in 1952 when he
contributed the first billiards table to the then Mysore State
Billiards Association (which later transformed into KSBA) and today
KSBA is known as Mecca of Cue Sports in India.
Mr. Chenniappan
hails from a farmers family in Ooty which produces the tastiest
things in life. Probably the first family which brought in 'Green
Revolution – White Revolution', before the terms were thought off
even. Brought in the most organized, most respected and much needed
(a scarce item in Karnataka those days) milk distribution system
from their Niligiri Dairy Farm established in 1905.
Mr. Chenniappan,
survived by his wife Thangammal, 4 sons, 3 daughters, grand children
and great grand children.
The whole
Billiards fraternity in India miss him. It is an irreparable loss.
