It was honour to play a man I grew up watching
Karnataka's giant-killer M S ARUN in conversation with Kunal Chonkar after his semifinal upset win over YASIN MERCHANT in the Nahar-MIG snooker Quarter Final
Q: Victory after a nail biting finish? A: Well all thanks to some good luck and effort.
Q: Your feeling? A: It was great to play against the man I grew up watching. It was honour to have him as a opponent.
Q: Redemption as you lost to him in Nationals last year? A: I would not put it as redemption but a deserved win after hard work.
Q: You won the early frames but he picked up, your thoughts? A: Yes I felt as I had wrapped the match but I expected him to make a strong comeback and he did. He just finishes the game once given an opportunity.
Q: Some tricks up your sleeve? A: Tried keeping my cool, but anxiety gets the better of everyone. I did tried maneuvering the strategy from time to time but he always came back with strong strokes.
Q: You seemed nervous at the end of 7th round, were you expecting it to go down to the last? A: no not nervous but I am still a student at the game, so one can expect the cold grip but at the end luck shone on me.
