Sitwala regained his form in National Billiards



Former World No.2, Dhruv Sitwala of PSPB, returned to his great form and entered into Top-8 of Indian Billiards ranking after a gap of 2 years. He had a struggling phase during last two Nationals but this time despite having a very tough opponent in the Last-16, he demonstrated outstanding performance and made good breaks in all three games to knockout former World Champion Ashok Shandilya of Railways in the Manisha National Billiards Championship 2014 here at Lucknow.

A Chance was there for Shandilya to clinch second game in his favour but he failed by mere 2 points and Dhruv capitalized to gain 2-Nil Lead over Shandilya. In third game also Dhruv produced a break of 74 points to step in Quarters.

Today two youngsters also performed exceptionally well and entered into quarter finals. Where Malkeet Singh of Railway spend some extra time on table to outplay I.H. Manudev 3-2, Jaiveer Dhingra of Maharashtra gave no chance to veteran Devendra Joshi and knocked him out in straight set of games 3-0.

After the match Jaiveer paid regards to Joshi by obtaining his blessings, which remained 'Moment of the Day'

Defending champion Alok Kumar of PSPB also registered thrilling win against Aditya Agarwal of Railway at a cost of 1 game that Aditya won by scoring a convincing break of 117 points.

Senior Snooker qualifying rounds also started today where more than 300 players are participating for 11 slots in the main draw which will start from 1st March.

Quarter final
matches of Senior Billiards will start at 1400 Hours on 25 February 2014.
