Four centuries in two
days
Pankaj Advani of PSPB beat Sumesh Turki of Jammu & Kashmir by 3-0 to win
his 3rd league match of the Manisha Billiards and Snooker Nationals here
at Lucknow today.
Pankaj played well in the first frame with the break of 84. But the second
frame was scrappy. Both players were not positioning themselves properly.
In the end Pankaj got one opportunity and cleared the frame from brown to
black at score of 71 and won the frame making the score line 2-0. In the
3rd frame Pankaj was again in his element and struck a well constructed
century break of 102. He won his match by 3-0. This is Pankaj's 2nd
century break in three matches he played and tournaments 4th.
In the other match, Faisal Khan of Railways outplayed Punjab’s Sahil
Nayyar 3-1. Faisal Khan made a break of 134 in the forth frame.
Top seeded player Manan Chandra of PSPB showed no mercy as he defeated
Vinod Kerkar of Goa 3-0 with a century break of 100 in third frame.
On an other table, Uttar Pradesh’s Akashay Kumar had to struggle to oust
world 6 red bronze medalist Shivam Arora by 3-2.
