Concentration
The best definition of concentration that I have come across is, “the intellect supervising the mind to remain in the present.”
Intellect is the faculty of reasoning or understanding objectively. Mind is a person’s determination, will or memory.
In sport, the term ‘killer instinct’ is used frequently. For me, someone with killer instinct can remain in the present completely oblivious to the state of the match. Yes, there are sportspersons who scream and shout during a match, but that is merely to release tension to soothe the nerves. There is a calm before and after a storm. That same principle is true for the mind. To me, killer instinct is another expression for concentration.
