Capt. Parvataneni Venkata Krishna Mohan, born on 12th August 1957 in Andhra Pradesh, has pursued his schooling & college in Kolkata. Having completed his Masters degree in Shipping and Business management from RMIT, Australia, he was sailing for more than 15 years after which he came back to Hyderabad and started his own company Seaways Shipping Limited.

 

The company under his dynamic leadership has grown from strength to strength and today is among the top shipping companies in India, offering complete gamut of maritime services to the trade.

 

Capt. Mohan is the senior-most member of the National Shipping Board representing the board since 1997 and was also the Chairman of the "Committee on Containerization" under Ministry of shipping. He has contributed immensely for the development of Shipping and containerization in India.

 

Capt. Mohan is also Member of Nautical Institute, England, Member of International Maritime Association, England, Member of Indian Council of Arbitration, Member of Executive Committee of FICCI (Andhra Pradesh Region).

 

He is also a keen sportsman and played Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Football at various levels. However Billiards & Snooker is one game which he was hooked to and became an ardent lover of Cue sports.

 

An opportunity presented to lead Andhra Pradesh Billiards & Snooker Association as president in July 2003, driven by his passion the almost defunct organization has within 4 months involved in hosting the biggest ever world championship in the history of game. The success of the event was adjudged as no mean achievement by his colleagues, who have unanimously elected him, during 2005, as the President of Billiards & Snooker Federation of India which is the highest authority working for benefit of cue sports in India.
