All Indian Participants of World Professional Billiards speaks about the class of Mike Russell, the World Pro Billiards Champion 2007.

Mike Russell has always been a supreme cueist and remins so till today. His greatest strength is his exquisite touch in the floating white technique at the top of the table and his intense focus…… After last years defeat in the world championship he has made a great recovery by winning the 2007 world professional billiards championship in true style ... Geet Sethi

Mike Russell is probably the best player to watch. In fact I consciously tried to mould my game according to his style of play. I watched him a lot and learnt the art of playing floating white method of top-table play.

His greatest strength is to play with the same intensity and seriousness with all his opponents. In fact I have realised that he is just trying to play against himself and not against any opponent.

It is a great honour to me that I have been playing in an era which has been dominated by two great players - Geet Sethi & Mike Russell (although I wish they played in different eras) ... Devendra Joshi

The very first day, when I was on practice table alongwith Geet, I watched Mike on another table and at that time only, I told Geet that this guy is going to make a major difference in this championship. His touch in his game was outstanding ... Ashok Shandilya

Mike Russell is pure genius. Never seen anyone play billiards with his kind of precision. The unique quality about Russell is that he is the best player around coupled with being a true gentleman off the table. That's the mark of a genuine professional. Personally, I've learnt a lot just by watching him play. He deserved every bit of the success ... Pankaj Advani

Mike Russell is undoubtedly the finest Billiards player I have seen. In the recently concluded World Pro Billiards Championship, after he played his very first match, he made it obvious that the fight was only for the second place ... Alok Kumar

His greatest quality is to remain constantly focussed at every moment of the match. He is very accurate in his shot selection which helps him to reach top-table as quickly as possible. His hunger to win is so much that it makes him a lethal player combined with the dogged determination which in turn makes him invincible. His approach on the table with his silky cueing his a mesmerizing effect on the crowd. I think he is the greatest player in Billiards in last 50 years ... Dhruv Sitwala

Mike Russell makes the game look ridiculously easy. I felt naturally inspired watching him play the game with such refinement and master stroke play. He has a certain aura about him around the table which mesmerizes the spectators ... Sourav Kothari
