25.08.2015 :: Seeded Yagnesh and Gunjan march ahead in Gujarat State Senior Snooker

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Snooker event which is in its round of 32, is been played on the best of 5 frames format. 3rd seed Yagnesh Merai snatched away a breath taking match against Priyesh Patel. Seeded Merai lost the very first frame and started at a very low note at 15-55. In the 2nd frame he regained his confidence and levelled up at 64-30. But Patel was playing in full confidence and with his terrific potting skills again took a lead at 53-67. Merai had to force a decider to stay into the competition which he eventually did at 57-14. In the decider frame Merai was looking confident than Patel and snatched the frame and match at 76-44. On the other hand 4th seed Gunjan Patel dropped the first frame 46-65 to Abhishek Charel but then won straight 3 frames to seal the match at 65-30, 57-17, 60-39.

The Sub Junior Snooker event is under way and the Round Robin League Stage (Top 4) is been played on a best of 3 frames format. In this event Karmesh Patel and Rushil Chavda both overcame Rohan Kalaria and Vishal Thakar in straight 2 frames respectively.
