22.08.2015 :: Promising players move ahead in Gujarat State Senior Snooker

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Snooker is currently in its knock out stage and are been played on a best of 3 frames format.

In the Senior Snooker event 2nd round, promising player Meherzad Bhagwagar brushed aside Kamal Karera in 2 straight frames. Bhagwagar in the first frame seemed in form and took a lead at 74-17 registering a break of 35. Bhagwagar then sealed the 2nd frame and match at 53-13 giving no chance to his opponent. Other promising players like Tushar Sahay and Sanjay Shah both won their matches 2 frames to 0 against Suvrat Puri and Abhishek Smart respectively. Amit Patel and Vikas Sangle both won their matches 2-1 in a nail biting finish on the last ball against Anu Nair and Hardik Patel respectively.

The Sub Junior Snooker event has been started and is been played on a 1 frame format. In this event young lad Karmesh Patel swiped away Mayur Garg 55-04. Whereas Mitul Baldaniya overcame Het Patel at 86-59.
