21.08.2015 :: Malav pockets Gujarat State's Junior Snooker title

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

In the Junior Snooker event, the Round Robin League Stage was played on a best of 5 frames format. In the event 3rd seed Malav Parikh brushed aside Akil Rajani 3 frames to 1 to claim his Maiden Junior Snooker Title. Without dropping a single match Parikh won all his matches right from the knock out stage to the top four round robin league stage to claim the Title. 19 years old Parikh is now aiming for the Junior Billiards Title as he is the top seed and defending champion in that event, which will start from 25th August. Bhavin Sonaiya claimed the 2nd position, where as Dhanraj Solanki & Akil Rajani settled at No. 3 and 4 respectively. Malav Parikh and Bhavin Sonaiya will be representing Gujarat State in the forthcoming nationals in 2016 in this event.

The Senior Snooker is currently in its knock out stage and are been played on a best of 3 frames format.

In the Senior Snooker event, Nimal Shah overcame Rinkesh Pathak by 2 frames to 1. Shailesh Nandodariya had a tough time beating Jugal Gopani 2-1 after dropping the first frame and winning the 2nd on the last ball. Young and powerful Karan Bhandari also overcame Milan Joshi 2-0 much comfortably.
