brilliance in Gujarat State
The Winsome
Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is
under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State
Billiards Association (GSBA).
The Senior Snooker and Junior Snooker events are currently in their knock out
stage and are been played on a best of 3 frames format.
In the Junior Snooker event young lad Karmesh Patel shocked prominent player
Raghav Agarwal in 2 straight frames. In the first frame Agarwal seemed more
steady and was likely to win but he missed a easy sitter brown ball which ended
his hopes as Patel potted all the ball left on the table at 62-49. In the 2nd
frame Patel was looking more confident as he was potting well and kept on
constructing small breaks to stay in lead, he sealed the match on a well crafted
23 break at 83-56 to knock out Agarwal. Karmesh Patel will now be playing
Dhanraj Solanki who is the 2nd seed of the event. Karan Bhandari also played
excellent snooker giving no chance to his opponent Rarshil Patel at 51-02,
41-06.
In the Senior Snooker event Rushab Patel swiped up prominent Prashant Soni in
the first round at 46-36 and 59-52, while Bhavin Sonaiya had to fight it out
against Sanket Tripathi to win a decider.
