The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Snooker and Junior Snooker events are currently in their initial stages and are been played on a best of 3 frames format.

In the Senior Snooker event Nilesh Panchal overcame Akil Rajani in a fantastic 2-0 finish. Rajani in the first frame displayed amazing snooker skills to score a 46 break but Panchal on the other hand displayed a more powerful game and snatched the frame from Rajani’s pocket on 68-58. In the 2nd frame Panchal gave no chance to score and sealed the match at 57-08.

In the Junior Snooker event Amir Chezara cruised into the top 8, beating Mrugank Shah 2-0 who was seeded 5th in the event and was likely to win the match. In the first frame Shah was looking more powerful by scoring high but Chezara kept his calm and moved ahead on 69-58. In the 2nd frame Amir displayed a good game of snooker and left behind Shah on 40-28. Chezara is playing good snooker and is likely to enter the top 4 round robin league stage. Top seed Johnson Narsidani and 2nd seed Dhanraj Solanki entered the top 16 with easy wins at 2-0 against Soheb Himani and Chahak Patel respectively.
