The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Snooker and Junior Snooker events are currently in their initial stages and are been played on a best of 3 frames format.

In the Senior Snooker event Manmeet Sabhrawal displayed good snooker skills to beat current billiards title winner Ankur Khetan 2-0. In the first frame Sabhrawal shocked Khetan with his potting and secured a lead at 54-22. In the 2nd frame Khetan tried his best to force a decider but was unsuccessful as Sabhrawal potted a difficult long black on the last ball finish at 36-30. More over today morning Kamal Patel had a good day of snooker as he won against Ankit Jain 2-1 firing a 49 break in the 2nd frame, after dropping the first. This break of 49 is the highest break so far in the event.

On the other hand in the Junior Snooker event 3rd seed Malav Parikh smashed Suraj Morvadya 2 frames to 0 and entered the top 16. Parikh did not give any chance to his opponent and dominated the whole match at 62-04, 51-08. Raghav Agarwal also won 2-0 against Dhawal Goswami comfortably at 54-22 and 56-30.
