09.08.2015 :: Gandhi inches towards Billiards title

 

 

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Billiards event is in the Round Robin league stage and has a 150 points best of 5 format. The Junior Snooker and Senior Snooker events are currently in the best of 3 frames format.

Today in the morning, Abhimanyu Gandhi won a very crucial match against Malav Parikh to continue his winning streak. In the first game, Gandhi came out better than Parikh to score 150-99. In the second game, Gandhi by his powerful potting skills, scored high and went two games up on 150-60. But, Parikh had still not given up, in the third and fourth game, Parikh bounced back and won both the games at 150-84 and 150-137 to force a decider against Gandhi. He also crafted a 43 break in the third game. But Gandhi, resumed his form and wrapped up the match at 150-97.

In the Senior Billiards event last evening, Ankur Khetan showed good form beating Malav Parikh 3-1. In the very first game, Khetan displayed his Billiards skills putting up the event’s highest break so far; of 44 points and won 150-101. In the second game, Malav tried his best to level up the score board but Khetan out classed Parikh and moved two games up at 150-119. In the third game, Malav bounced back and registered a win at 150-125. But, Khetan in the fourth game settled the match by scoring 30s and 40s continuously to win 150-61.
