03.09.2015 :: Yagnesh, Mohsin hang on in Senior Snooker league

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

In the Senior Snooker Round Robin League Stage Top 4, 3rd seed Yagnesh Merai outclassed his opponent and 2nd seed Johnson Narsidani by winning his first round robin match 4 frames to 2. Merai who is popularly known as Yogi in the circuit, took off amazingly in the 1st frame by his powerful potting skills and took the lead at 69-08. The 2nd frame was the most interesting frame as Narsidani looked confident to level up as he was about 55 points up but Merai had still not given up on that frame and gave a snooker behind the black which got him 20 points, after that Merai cleared the table to move further up at 72-63. Narsidani then bounced back and levelled up by winning 2 frames at 49-65 & 23-72. But it was too late for Narsidani as Merai sealed the match in next 2 frame at 63-21 & 56-13. But Yogi had dual fortunes as he went down against fancied Mohsin Achhava in 4 frames to 1 today morning.
