01.09.2015 :: Mohsin debuts in Top 4 of Gujarat State Senior Snooker

 

The Winsome Realty Gujarat State Open Ranking Billiards & Snooker Championship for 2015 is under way. The event is jointly organized by Rajpath Club Ltd. and Gujarat State Billiards Association (GSBA).

The Senior Snooker event which is in its round of 8, is been played on the best of 5 frames format. Today Mohsin Achhava, a new find of talent thrashed seasoned player Anish Anandani with 3 frames to 1 to make a maiden entry into the Top 4 Round Robin League Stage. Achhava had a good start and claimed the first frame very quickly at 49-10. In the 2nd frame Anandani over powered his opponent and levelled up at 36-61. But a fully confident Achhava sailed on a break of 35 points in the 3rd frame and won the 4th frame to seal the match at 47(35)-26 & 60-42 respectively. In other matches 3rd seed Yagnesh Merai along with 5th seed and title favourite Abhimanyu Gandhi also joined the Top 4 Round Robin League Stage registering 3-0 wins over Sanjay Shah and 4th seed Gunjan Patel respectively. 2nd seed Johnson Narsidani is yet to play against Sachin Kansara of Vadodara in the pre league match.

The Junior Billiards event is also under way and is been played on a 30 minutes time format. In the event top seed Malav Parikh, 2nd seed Johnson Narsidani and Raghav Agarwal registered comfortable wins to enter the Top 4 Round Robin League Stage. Mrugank Shah also entered the League by luckily getting a walkover. In the Round Robin League Stage (60 minutes format), top seed Malav Parikh claimed the first win by a huge margin of 100 points against Mrugank Shah at 213-113.
