31 January 2013: Dhvaj claimed his ninth national title

Dhvaj Haria from Gujarat today successfully defended his National Junior Billiards title defeating all other three players in round robin stage here in Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior (Org. by Gwalior District Billiards and Snooker Association). This is ninth national title of his career so far.

The last round robin match had a nail biting finish as Dhvaj got a tough fight from Sub-Junior champion Ishpreet Chadha of Maharashtra. Till the last moment of play the result was swinging either way. At a stage Ishpreet was about to cross the lead set by Dhvaj but missed a simple cannon by a whisker when he was one point behind. From there Dhvaj gained some more points in the last minute of play and defeated him by 25 points.

Yesterday he defeated Jagadesh B. by a score of 648-228 points and today morning he outplayed M.L. Laxman by huge winning points difference i.e. 473 points.

Jagadesh B. of Tamil Nadu remained No.2 on points tally basis whereas Ishpreet and Laxman finished No.3 and 4 respectively.

The last qualification round matches of Junior snooker are still on while submitting the report and main round matches shall begin tomorrow morning at 10 AM.
