27 January 2013:
Ishpreet, Nikhil, Jagadesh and M.L. Laxman entered in ‘Top 4’
of Sub Junior Billiards
By the evening of
second day of Manisha National Billiards & Snooker
Championship 2013 being held at Jiwaji Stadium, Gwalior (Org.
by Gwalior District Billiards and Snooker Association),
Ishpreet Chadha (Maharashtra), Nikhil Pise (Karnataka),
Jagadesh B. (Tamil Nadu) and M.L. Laxman (Karnataka) reached
into top 4 of Sub-Junior Billiards category.
Where Ishpreet,
Jagadesh and Laxman sailed smoothly into the ‘Top 4’ stage,
Nikhil Pise registered a commendable win over former
Sub-Junior Billiards champion Ashutosh Padhy of Orissa by 4
points only. Despite maintaining a lead throughout the match
Ashutosh remained unlucky in the last moments where Nikhil
scored a break of 40 points and stepped ahead. Ashutosh got a
chance but managed to score an unfinished break of 22 points
and fall short by 4 points.
Local player from
Gwalior Anuj Agarwal (MP) played well in earlier rounds but
could not produce any magic against Ishpreet Chadha of
Maharashtra 117-268.
Nikhil will now
take on Ishpreet chadha in the semi final match tomorrow where
as M.L. Laxman will play against Jagadesh B.
Earlier another
player from Karnataka, Arjun Mehta shocked Jaiveer Dhingra of
Maharashtra 207-183. Arjun was trailing in the initial stage
but later he recovered and compiled few good breaks to upset
Dhingra. However, Mehta lost to Gurcharan Singh of West Bengal
in the next round 157-173.
