Rahul and Vishal entered into top 4 via qualifications
Outstanding
performance been given by Maharashtra players Vishal Vaya and
Rahul Sachdev in Junior Snooker category of Manisha National
Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium
Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior (Org. by Gwalior District
Billiards and Snooker Association) where both of them reached
into Top 4 Round Robin after qualifying from qualification
round and then knockout of Last 64 Main stage.
Vishal took on
Junior Billiard champion Dhvaj Haria in Quarter final match.
First frame went long where both the players struggled to win
that but in the last Vishal managed to pocket the frame on
black ball game. In the subsequent frames, Vishal played much
controlled shot and succeeded to knockout Dhvaj 3-Nil.
Vishal’s state-mate Rahul Sachdev also joined him into Top 4.
He defeated Nitin Sharma from Chandigarh 3-1.
Malkeet Singh
from UP defeated his state-mate Mark Menezes 3-NIL. Mark had
few chances but failed to capitalize them and lost.
In another
marathon match Nitesh Madan from Delhi also confirmed his
berth into Top 4 of Junior Snooker. He knocked out Ishpreet
Chadha (Maharashtra) in the decider frame.
After winning first frame Nitesh went down to two frames and
was at a scare of losing the match but perfectly on time he
managed to pull the fourth frame and forced Ishpreet to play
the decider. The decider had also seen some good safe-shots
from both the players and finally Nitesh closed the
proceedings and stepped into top 4 defeating Ishpreet 66-30,
38-54, 22-85, 52-32, 68-39.
Earlier today in
Last 16 round match between Nitin Sharma of Chandigarh against
Ashutosh Padhy (Orissa) went to the decider frame and had a
nail biting finish where Nitin just defeated Ashutosh by a
mere two points on black ball game.
Both the players
from Mizoram, Lalsangzela and Zothan Tlunga got out in Last 16
stage. Lalsangzela lost to Vishal Vaya (Maharashtra) in the
decider frame whereas Mark Menezes (UP) knocked out Zothan
Tlunga in straight set of frames 3-NIL.
Today the
Qualifying round of Senior Billiards has also begun where 47
players are taking part for 4 slots available in main round.
