11.11.2012: Talisman lifts at 9th edition of PYC-ATC SNOOKER CHALLENGE 2012

Mumbai’s team Talisman scored a 3-0 win over CCI Snooker Kings to lift the title 9th edition of PYC-ATC Snooker Challenge 2012 Championships being organized by Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra(BSAM) and held at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Poona Club, Deccan Gymkhana and Turf Club.

In final match played today Talisman showed tremendous form to score a 3-0 win over CCI Snooker Kings. Faizal Khan from Talisman down in the first frame, played attacking snooker to pulverize Nikhil Ottam by 39-62, 66-27, 86(51)- 08, 43-71, 51-40, 72-03 in style with breaks of 51 in the third frame to give Talisman a one-nil lead. In the second match Former Asian champions Devendra Joshi of Talisman scored a 71-02, 55-13, 58-20, 64-77, 62-55 win over Hasan Badami to give Talisman a 2-0 lead. Rishabh Pandya from CCI Snooker Kings leave the match after 6 frames against Siddhartha Parikh of Talisman.

The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr. Dilip Khandelwal, VP (Logistic & Planning department) of ISMT. Mr. Rajan Khinvsara, Director of Manisha Constructions and the vice president of the BSFI, Mr. Ashitosh Sathe, Director of ACL, Dr. Sudhir Bhate, VP of PYC Hindu Gymkahan, Mr. Manish Sabade, VP of BSAM, Mr. Vijay Kumar Tamhane, Secretary of the PYC Hindu Gymkahana were also present on this occasion. Mr. Salil Deshpande, Secretary of BSAM welcomed the guest while Tournament Director Mr. Arun Barve, proposed to vote of thanks.

The Winner team received trophy and Rs.50, 000 cash prizes, runner up team got trophy and Rs.30, 000 cash prizes, while semifinalist team get Rs.20, 000 cash prize & trophy & quarterfinalist team get Rs.10, 000 cash prize, Pre-Quarterfinalist team got Rs.6, 000 cash prize & trophy. Apart from prizes for highest breaks first prize were won by Yasin Merchant(91 points) got Rs.5,000/-, while second prize for Devendra Joshi(90 points) got Rs.2, 000/-.

Mumbai’s team Talisman and CCI Snooker Kings will clash for the title of the 9th edition of PYC-ATC Snooker Challenge 2012 Championships being organized by Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra(BSAM) and held at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Poona Club, Deccan Gymkhana and Turf Club.

In the semi final match played today Talisman team continued his splendid run in the event outplayed Bombay Gymkhana 2-1. In the first match Former Asian champions Devendra Joshi of Talisman easily put out Kabil Badami from Bombay Gymkhana 77-49, 52-42, 70-23; while in the second match Siddhartha Parekh lost to Rovin D’souza 27-68, 69-37, 01-75, 16-81. In the third match Faizal Khan from Talisman scored a break of 68 in the third frame to defeat Aditya Agarwal of Bombay Gymkhana to storm in to final.

In the second semi final match CCI Snooker Kings managed to win over Apex Stars 2-1. Thanks to Nikhil Ottam and Rishabh Pandya who played impressive game for team winning.

CCI Snooker Kings, Apex Stars, Bombay Gymkhana survive close encounters over their opponents and entered in semi final round at the 9th edition of PYC-ATC Snooker Challenge 2012 Championships being organized by Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra(BSAM) and held at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Poona Club, Deccan Gymkhana and Turf Club.

In the quarter final round Apex Stars scored a 2-1 win over LCSA from Lukhnow. Shivam Arora of Apex Stars thrashed Vipin Premi of LCSA 79-16, 68-40, 69-04, while Yogesh Sharma of Apex Stars lost to Akshay Kumar from LCSA 51-09, 20-90, 17-57, 56-60. Abhimanyu Gandhi of Apex Stars put out impressive show and registered easy victory over Malkeet Singh from LCSA 64-15, 72-30, 44-66, 70-14 to help team to enter in last four stage.

Bombay Gymkhana managed to win over Apex Challengers 2-1. Thanks to Rovin D’souza and Kabil Badami who played impressive game for team winning.

CCI Snooker Kings scored a creditable win over GA Tigers 2-1 and move into semi final round.

The semi finals & final matches will be played on (Saturday, November 10). Semi finals will be started at 10:00 am while, final will be played at 3pm, followed by Prize distribution ceremony. CCI Snooker Kings, Apex Challengers, Talisman, Bombay Gymkhana thrashed their opponents respectively to enter into quarterfinal final at the 9th edition of PYC-ATC Snooker Challenge 2012 Championships being organized by Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra(BSAM) and held at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Poona Club, Deccan Gymkhana and Turf Club.

Bombay Gymkhana easily put out Apex Potters 3-0. Rovin D’souza beat Pratyush Somayyjula 70-40, 60-41, 68-26, while in the scond match Kabil Badami scored a break of 54 in the first frame to defeat Vishal Vaya 80(54)-01, 81-39, 70-57. Aditya Agarwal managed to win over Ibrahim Shaikh 08-60, 60-25, 65-32, 27-22 to help team to enter in last eight stage.

Apex Challengers scored a 3-0 win over BSAN of Nasik, while CCI Shufflers scored an identical win over AP’S Monsters to book a place in the quarterfinal round.

CCI Snooker Kings defeated Turf Club 2-1 thanks to some dashing play by Rishabh Pandya who edged out Muneez Poonawala 65-31, 72-44, 43-75, 71-41 in a thriller after bothe team were tied at 1-1.
