08 Feb 2012:

Day Two of the 2nd H.K. Jafri Memorial Six Red All India Open Snooker Tournament being played at the Oudh Gymkhana Club here saw some keenly contested matches on Wednesday. Altamash Safy was superb in potting in the process of ousting Shubham Malhotra by 4-1 frames while Ankit Bajaj of Nainital came from behind to topple Gaurav Nathani by 4-3 frames even as Vipin Sethi of Delhi also qualified for the main draw of the tournament along with Safy and Ankit.

Rominder Pahwa also made the grade by beating Sarabjeet Singh by 4-3 frames.

Gaurav was squarely  to blame for his loss to Ankit as leading by three frames to nil, he needed only the pink to win the match but went in-off to allow Ankit to rally brilliantly to win the tie by taking the fourth,  fifth, sixth and seventh frames.

07 Feb 2012:

Even as the 2nd All India HK Jafri Memorial Six Red Open Snooker tournament began here at the Oudh Gymkhana Club under the auspices of LCSA there were a few surprises on Tuesday which saw only the local state players in action  including cueists from Varanasi, Bareilly, Allahabad, Ghaziabad and Aligarh too.

Mohammad Arbaz excelled with some cracking potting in the process of eliminating the more fancied Anuj Mahajan by four frames to two while Sudhanshu Lal had to struggle to override a fighting Karminder Singh before registering a four frames to two victory to move into the round of last 32.

All matches were played on a knock-out format of best of seven frames.
