Agarwal stuns Tengra
Agrawal, playing with a +60 handicap, kicked off a rewarding day when he crushed favourite Tengra 200-67 in the opening round. Later, Agrawal beat Eric Mistry of Elphinstone Cricket Club 200-160 in the second round.
Upsets continued as Hasan Badami of Islam Gymkhana beat Rishabh Kumar of Bombay Gymkhana 200-144 and Deependra Pinkiyar of Shivaji Park Gymkhana prevailed over Cyrus Mistry of Elphinstone Cricket Club in encounters between quality cueists.
In snooker action, Cyrus Aga of hosts Elphinstone Cricket Club made the most of home conditions to surprise fancied Karan Chugh 92-62, 104-72 in a second round clash.
Joining Aga in the third round was a Shiv Sena shakha pramukh Ganesh Sarankar of Mumbai Port Trust who revealed his penchant for the green baize with an impressive 103-86, 107-94 win over formidable Shailesh Rao of Matunga Gymkhana after snatching the second frame on the pink.
