Clyde stuns Meenal
Clyde Affonso of Catholic Gymkhana shocked national women’s champion Meenal Thakur 2-0, in the All India Sohrab Gandhi Open Handicap Billiards & Naval Tata Open Handicap Snooker Tournament, organised and hosted by Elphinstone Cricket Club, VT, on Friday.
In a best-of-three frames second round snooker tie, anonymous Affonso overcame the favourite 105-80, 100-56 in a surprisingly one-sided affair in which Thakur struggled to find her form.
With a +60 handicap and impressive potting, Affonso surged to substantial leads in both frames while Thakur, with a +45 handicap, missed easy pots including the red and pink in the second frame.
