Jadhav upset Khubchandani

Islam Gymkhana marker Amit Jadhav shocked fancied Deepak Khubchandani to enter the second round, in the Goldfilled Open Handicap Snooker Tournament at the Catholic Gymkhana on Thursday.

Enjoying a handicap of +60, a consistent Jadhav beat the Khar Gymkhana cueist 106-76, 73-108, 101-78 in an exciting first round encounter.

In another upset, Gital Patel (+60) of Vashi began her campaign with a 94-93, 112-98 win over Ramesh Bobad (+55) of Tata Sports Club in a close match that included a black ball finish in the opening frame and a narrow escape in the second.

Also advancing to the second round was Vinod Nair (+60) of Clear PR who beat Pratik Jadwani (+60) of Khar Gymkhana 122-93, 119-105.
