Kobnak wins Black-ball tie

 

PJ Hindu Gymkhana marker Ajit Kobnak snatched a thrilling black ball tie to storm into the fourth round of the Goldfilled Open Handicap Snooker Tournament at the Catholic Gymkhana on Tuesday.

 

Kobnak (+50) overcame formidable Rajit Mehta (+55) of North Indian Association 135-90, 111-104 in an exciting encounter.

 

After winning the opening frame without much ado, the second frame ended in a black ball tie when the scores were level at 104-104.

 

Markers experienced mixed fortunes as Islam Gymkhana marker Amit Jadhav went down to CCI’s Akief Haveliwala in straight frames in the second round.

 

In another second round match, Rohan Punjabi of CCI overcame Vishal Upsham of Vashi 127-90, 93-121, 111-104.
