Manan bags Otters
title
Chandra earned Rs.1.5 Lakh for his effort
after overcoming Damani in the race-to-17 racks championship round.
Chandra, who escaped to a nail-biting 15-14
win over Yasin Merchant in the semi-finals on Saturday, once again fought his
way back from an early deficit to take a 10-6 lead and dominate the latter half
of the final.
Chandra was put under pressure early on as
Damani got off to a dream start and dominated the first session with brilliant
snookers.
But Damani lost his way after the break, as
Chandra snatched seven racks in a row on two occasions to seal a deserving
victory.
"Brijesh played well early in the match.
But after that nerve-wracking semi-final against Yasin, my confidence grew. I
was never perturbed by the deficit. I always believed in myself and had to be
patient and wait for my chances," explained Manan Chandra.
Manan
Chandra of PSPB rallied from a 3-6 deficit to beat Brijesh Damani of Kolkata
17-8 to clinch the title in the Otters Club All India 9-Ball Pool Tournament on
Sunday.
"Manan was in good form. I enjoyed a good start but I lost my way later," said
Damani, who earned Rs.75,000 as the runner-up.
The prizes were presented by actors Tushaar Kapoor and Diya Mirza.
