Waghchavre, Gurudatta, Zubin enters into knock-out

 

Amilesh Waghchavre of Deccan Gymkhana, Sonu Gurudatta of Poona Club and Zubin Registrar of Turf Club enter the knock out round of the 4th edition of the `Poona Club -Manisha Open and Invitational Snooker Championship 2009”in collaboration with Manisha Construction being organized at the Poona Club tables.

 

Unseeded Amilesh Waghchavre scored an 40-49,65-57,68-64 first league win over 22nd seed Yogesh Sharma of Horizon to register the biggest upset of the day. In his back to back wins, Amilesh scraped past Vikrant Baghve 20-49,49-20,57-22 to entered the knock out round.

 

15th seeded Sonu Gurudatta of Poona Club registered 2-1 victory over Saurabh Saket of Uttar Praddesh to enter next stage of the tournament. Turf Club’s Zubin Registrar seeded 11th in the event, yesterday who scored two back to back wins, also made it to the knockout round.
