Chawla, Rupesh make it at Shahbaz's

Rupesh Shah bounced back in the Rs.3.10 lakh Nahar Group-MIG Club All India Snooker Invitation Tournament by beating Devendra Joshi 4-1 in group D. Rupesh had lost to young gun Shahbaaz Khan on day two and got a boost when Kamal Chawla beat Shahbaaz to hand him his first defeat, 4-0 to throw the group wide open.
Late last night Shahbaaz had beaten his BPCL senior Devendra Joshi 4-2. Kamal beat Joshi 4-2 and the upshot of it was that there was a three-way tie and on frame difference, Shahbaaz lost and Rupesh and Chawla went through.
In group 'B', Alok Kumar fought back strongly beating Rishab Pandya 4-2. In group 'C' R. Girish beat Nikhil Ootam 4-1 (73-41, 78-47, 64-74, 62-46, 63-56).
Manan Chandra and Yasin Merchant were set to qualify from group A and Brijesh Damani and Aditya Mehta from group C. MS Arun and Alok Kumar or Sourav Kothari would make it from group B.
