Mixed Fortune for Super Siblings

Super Siblings Anuja Chandra and Meenal Thakur experienced mixed fortunes as the ladies took centre stage, in the inaugural Yasin Merchant Classic Invitation Snooker Doubles Tournament, organized by the Yasin Merchant Fan Club, at the Islam Gymkhana on Friday.

 

Siblings earned four points while beating the formidable Cool Cats pair of Lucky Vatnani and Amit Saboo in the best-of-five frames contest.

 

Anuja and Meenal raced to a 3-0 lead that gave them the confidence and though Cool Cats pulled one back by clinching the fourth frame Siblings sealed a convincing win in the fifth and final frame that saw Vatnani's break of 51 go in vain.

 

Cool Cats settled for two points while crashing to their second defeat in as many outings in Group 'A'.

 

Super Siblings however lost to Steady Eddies Rupesh Shah and Rafath Habib in another tie as they earned one point, while Eddies earned four.

 

Dynamic Duo Devendra Joshi and Ashok Shandilya opened their account with four points after overcoming Sharp Shooters Shravan Mohta and Brijesh Damani who earned one point in their opening Group 'B' encounter.

 

In another Group 'B' tie, Young Turks Pankaj Advani and Manan Chandra also kicked off their campaign with a comfortable win over Bengali Babus. Young Turks earned four points, while Babus settled for one point.

Steady Eddies bt Super Siblings 65-60, 71-29, 81-35, 68-92, 69-56

Super Siblings bt Cool Cats 66-57, 69-61, 84-68, 67-59, 71-84.

 

Group B:

Young Turks bt Bengali Babus 74-19, 20-56, 59-52, 75-18, 69-44

Dynamic Duo bt Sharp Shooters 80-32, 16-51, 67-52, 71-57, 80-36.
