Cue sports league lights up Mumbai calendar

Mumbai’s league in snooker and billiards has a
history going back over 50 years. There used to be a handicap
billiards league. Then they had billiards in year and snooker in the
other, alternate years. There was the Matharadas Vissanji tropohy
and later the Asgarali Vahanvati trophy after which there was the
Clea trophy.
Entries for snooker league were always higher over
80 sometimes. Now the format is changed having both billiards and
snooker in one tie. It is best of five, wit first snooker singles,
billiards singles and snooker doubles followed by two snooker
singles. The first three are mandatory. Matches will go on for four
weeks. After the league among over fifty clubs there will be a Super
league and then the playoff. In every week the teams play each other
on home and then away table. We present results of first there weeks
play.
