Arbaz wins the UP State Junior Snooker Championship 2016

Aligarh based cueist Mohd. Arbaz became the new Uttar Pradesh State Junior champion by defeating Ayush Srivastav in the final that concluded today at The Green Baize in Lucknow,

The fact that Arbaz dropped only one frame throughout the tournament is testimony to how dominating he was on the table.

The Round Robin after the knockout stage saw four players Arun Kumar (NCR), Vishwajeet Mohan (Lko) and Ayush Srivastava (Lko) emerge and in all fairness the battle was for the 2nd spot as it was generally accepted that Arbaz would become Number One.

Arbaz, who has trained at the Lucknow Cue Sports Academy for the last month and a half, did not let his fans down as he won all three of his matches 3-0.

The other players going to represent Uttar Pradesh in the Nationals was another student of the Academy Ayush Srivastava.

In the round robin matches Ayush performance see-sawed a bit but his first match against Vishwajeet Mohan who he beat 3-1 earned him great applause from the audience and deserves a great amount of praise.

After having played a great first match the second match against Arun Kumar was a struggle as he went down 3-1. All the three having lost to Arbaz and Vishwajeet beating Arun 3-1 the tournament saw a three-way tie for the 2nd place. In the first match of mini tie breaker Ayush got his revenge as he downed Arun 2-0.

Arun having lost his first match came back full throttle to beat Vishwajeet 2-1. And in the last of the three matches Vishwajeet beat Ayush 3-2 but Ayush manged to squeeze through with a one frame advantage and grab the number 2 slot.
