Lilly wins Gold, Amee and Advani settled for Silver and Bronze
Indian cueists have
claims all colour medals in different
categories of the 2016 IBSF World Snooker ended last night at Doha,
Qatar.
Marking the biggest achievement of his career, Jalandhar base
Dharminder Lilly shown outstanding performance throughout the
competition to claim gold in the Masters category. In the final he
defeated Welshman Elfed Evans 6-2.
India also won two more medals in other categories. Where Amee
Kamani performed her best by entering in her first ever World
Championship final and winning silver of Women Category, Pankaj
Advani had lost in the semi final of Men Category and settled for
Bronze.
Amee Kamani lost to defending champion Wendy Jans 5-0 but earlier
she played splendid game of snooker and knocked out tough challenges
like Waratthanun Sukritthanes of Thailand in Semis and her
compatriot Chitra Magimairaj in Quarters.
Bit disappointments were in Men’s category where the defending
champion from India Pankaj Advani settled for Bronze after losing
the semi-final match against the Welsh Wizard Andrew Pagett 7-2.
