Laxman wins maiden major nation-wide tournament

Laxman Rawat of Maharashtra wins the Chintamani Memorial & D. Sashikant Memorial Open Snooker Tournament 2015 held at Erode, Tamil Nadu. In the final he defeated Faisal Khan of Railways 5-1 to lift the tournament trophy and winner's prize of Rs.70000.

After qualifying as No.7 from round robin stage, Laxman was comfortably defeated Senthil (TN) 3-1 in Last-32, R. Girish (Railways) 4-1 in Pre-Quarters and Vijay Nichani (TN) 4-2 in Quarters.

However, it went tough for him to win semi final match against J. Varun Kumar (TN) that had fallen in decider but Laxman managed to win and reached in the final where he conquered Faisal Khan of Railways to win his first ever nation-wide major tournament.
