WBBA to host 2015 GLOSTER National Billiards & Snooker Championship at BRC, Kolkata
 

The West Bengal Billiards Association (WBBA) is pleased to announce that the 2015 GLOSTER National Billiards & Snooker Championship in association with the SPACE Group will be held at The Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata from 3rd – 24th January, 2015.

The mega event is coming back to the "The City of Joy" after 17 years since it was last held at Calcutta Club in 1997 and will be organized by the West Bengal Billiards Association under the auspices of the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).

Spread over 22 days with more than 700 participants in 12 categories (Men's, Women, Junior and Sub-Junior Boys & Girls), the National Championship is the country's biggest annual event of Billiards and Snooker which will showcase the country's most highly acclaimed cueists under one roof vying for top honors.

The new indoor sports complex along with the banquet halls and the main lobby of the Bengal Rowing Club will be converted into a world class cuesports venue with 12 international standard billiards tables and state-of-the-art playing conditions.

In the Men's section, both the defending champions Sourav Kothari (Billiards) and Pankaj Advani (Snooker) have confirmed their participation while in the Women category, defending champions R. Uma Devi (Billiards) & Vidya Pillai (Snooker) shall be the star attractions.

The top 8 of the National Championship in the Senior and Junior categories of men and top 4 of the women  will qualify to play the selection trials in their respective categories. Based on their performance in the Nationals and the selection tournaments, they will be nominated to play in the major international events of 2015.
