Wuxi Stadium Named Centre Of Excellence

Wuxi Stadium, the venue for the Wuxi Classic world ranking event, has been designated a WPBSA Centre of Excellence.

WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson presented a certificate recognising the venue's status to Ms Wang Xunchun, General Manager of Wuxi Tianjian Sports Management Co Ltd.

Ferguson said: "Wuxi Stadium was purpose build for snooker and it is a fantastic venue. The Wuxi Classic has become an established and keenly-anticipated world ranking event and the players are looking forward to the forthcoming tournament."

"Our Centres of Excellence programme is establishing locations all over the world which have achieved the highest standard of facilities and are committed to the development of our sport both at grassroots and professional level, providing opportunities for all.

"I would like to thank the Wuxi Municipal Government for their tremendous work in supporting snooker."
