When Feroz Khan took up the cue for KSBA

Remembering a timely act of generosity that bailed out the State
association
Today’s
generation of billiards and snooker aficionados will have little
reason to connect late Feroz Khan with their sport, but the older
lot, myself included, would remember his one act of spontaneous
generosity that rescued the Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA)
from disaster. Back in the 1980s, the
KSBA was in the process of a resurrection, having moved to its new
(and current) premises from Brigade Road. There was a new found
dynamism and enthusiasm among the KSBA officials who plotted a
course of action that would put not just Karnataka but also India on
the world billiards and snooker map.
Those were heady days with Sachu (BV Sachidananda Murthy) at the
helm. For whatever faults Sachu might have had, the fact was that he
was totally devoted to the task of lifting the profile of billiards
and snooker.
