Dear All,
As you all know, last year Islam
Gymkhana successfully conducted
Inaugural Pro Classic Open Snooker Tournament for Markers in
Mumbai, which was won by Hari Jeevan of Willingdon Club.
The winner did go home a happy man, but
it also brought smiles to the faces of all the participants, who
were given some token amount of money just for participation. More
importantly, it also gave them a reason to feel as important as
players, and there was fierce but healthy competition to prove their
skills. The success of last year’s event kept them pining for more
and they eagerly waited this year’s edition too.
We at Islam Gymkhana have decided to
give them yet another opportunity to prove their worth and in the
bargain take home some decent prize money as well. We have scheduled
the tournament for the 10 October 2008, and this year we plan to
make it a six-red event, thereby adding to the excitement and
leveling the playing field.
Some of us, including myself, have
contributed towards the tournament, but in order to make it a
reasonably presentable event, we are still falling short by about
Rs.76000/- (entire
tournament budget attached). Hence I appeal to all the players
and all connected with the game to come forward and contribute for
this noble cause and make this marker’s fraternity a really happy
one.
Thanking you in anticipation of
handsome contributions.
Yours truly,
Yasin Merchant
