In a very important decision, UP Billiards & Snooker Association, has been allotted the 2009 National billiards & snooker, Seniors, Juniors, Sub - Juniors & Ladies championships to be held in December, 2009 in Lucknow by the Billiards & Snooker Federation Of India in its Annual General meeting held at the Calcutta club here yesterday.

Mr. Kush Bhargava, President of the UP Billiards & Snooker Association made a strong bid for the Nationals ably backed by Mr. I.S.Malik, the Honorary Secretary of the UP Association. THe 2007 Nationals is being held from the 7th to 28th December in Hyderabad this year while the 2008 Nationals has been allotted to the Madhya Pradesh Association and is likely to be held in December, 2008 in Bhopal or Indore.

In a related and significant development, Mr. Malik has been upgraded to Grade 1 from Grade 2 as a National referee. Malik was quite delighted at the successful outcome and has said that we would make all efforts to host the Nationals in a fitting and desirable manner and has been assured all help by the BSFI as well as the Karnataka Association officials in conducting the event successfully.
